Trust for Generations

Generations designate a definite focus on a person but simultaneously on an indefinite period of time, including time past. In a concrete sense, generation designates the men who lived in the same period of time, who were contemporaries, and is characterised by the same recurring condition or quality, be it in their own affairs, or the institutions they have served.

Turnstone, based on the concept similar to the provision of Wilhelm Franz Heinrich Dölberg's services to the last King of Prussia, and carried forward today by his great grandsons, ensures planning and building for future generations, while not forgetting past generations - all reinforced by trust.

"Allow without fear" is a definition that has been used to describe trust. John Humphrey from Harvard states that: "The many definitions of trust have two core elements; an agent's acceptance of risk from the actions of others; and the expectation that the 'partner' will not take advantage of the opportunities opened up by the agent's acceptance of risk". Generations before and generations after, Turnstone will live up to such an expectation of trust.

In 1901 and 1907, in Berlin (Postdam) Germany, Wilhelm Franz Heinrich Dölberg was appointed as a personal advisor and "privy councillor" to the last Emperor (and King of Prussia), Kaiser Wilhelm II. A century later, in 2000, Turnstone was conceived and established by Heinrich Dölberg’s great-grandsons as a financial service industry group, with a vision to provide advisory services to individuals and institutions wishing to expand investments or services more broadly than in their domestic markets.

Today, Turnstone is represented in a number of jurisdictions, originating from clients’ needs to expand globally. We, as the Turnstone team, have a clear understanding of our dependency on the ongoing support of our clients, from one generation to the next.
